Best internet marketing strategies - how the heck do you figure out which are really the best when there are so many to choose from?
Internet Marketing Strategies that Work
Obviously, the best marketing strategies are the ones that work in terms of bringing in potential buyers and then converting that into sales.
But these also have to be marketing techniques that work for YOU. You have to be comfortable with the marketing you do - it has to reflect who you are as a person and a business owner.
The way you use the internet to market can tell a lot about who you are.
How to Determine Your Best Marketing Strategy
1. Are you using a marketing method you enjoy?
If article marketing is how you do most of your marketing on the internet ask yourself how much you are enjoying the process? Do you like to write? Do you like writing about the subject you have chosen?
If you hate writing, it will probably come across in your articles. Your visitors may not realize where the negative feeling they are getting is coming from. But they will pick up on it and are not likely to stick around long enough to find out what your business is about.
If you're having fun with it, your visitors will have fun as well. Watch any Frank Kern video - video marketing is his thing. He's having a great time and we do too. He's silly, campy, irreverent, and once in a while serious, but he leaves you wanting more.
2. Social Media for People Who Like Hanging Out with Other People
Do you have a real interest in other people and what they are doing? Or are you just going through the motions because someone told you social marketing is the way to go with your business?
Social marketing only works if you are genuine. You have to be willing and able to take the time to develop relationships with other people on the social sites and that means getting to know them on more than one level. Look for people who share interests other than business.
Do you have a hobby? Like a particular kind of music? Is there something going on in the news that you would enjoy discussing with others?
You'll make better connections with people if they get to know you as a person first. The old "people buy from people, not companies" saying is very true.
A word of caution - what you put out on the internet stays on the internet. Don't engage in gossip. I've seen people leave a comment bashing some author or product that begins with "I've never read the book or used the program, but yeah, it's a scam!"
Making a judgement on something you have just admitted you know nothing about is not going to establish you as an expert. Be careful what you say on the internet! Even if the comment has nothing to do with business, it can still come back to haunt you.
3. Use Internet Marketing Strategies that Reflect Who You Are
You want to establish trust with you audience. You do this by letting them get to know you. No mystery here! You want to be as open as possible.
Mike Dillard is a young, driven, single guy who enjoys the good life. His marketing strategies are hard hitting with a lot of straight talk. He is the expert and you can either take his advice or go follow someone else. You'll see lots of photos in his marketing of what working hard and being successful in business can bring - fast cars, adventurous vacations, living the good life.
Eben Pagan is more of an intellectual and spiritual person. He takes excellent care of himself mentally and physically and his internet marketing reveals this. Just TRY to find a wrinkle on Eben's shirt when you watch his videos. He is always impeccably groomed. He is a perfectionist.
Anne Sieg is a wife and mother who home schooled her boys. Theirs is a close knit family who work and play together. She wants to bring out the potential in her customer much in the same way she wanted to bring out the potential in her sons. Her marketing strategies are designed to protect her clients from making the same mistakes she did in business.
Mike Klingler is a down to earth born-to-be-teacher. His value system is reflected in his belief that anything he learns and can pass on to someone else is better for everybody. He is calm and not easily ruffled. If there is a heated debate going on a forum, Mike will come out as the voice of reason. Mike's internet marketing strategies are very much based on sharing what he knows freely and openly. He packs as much value and thought into his free programs as he does the paid material.
Each of these people are extremely successful. Part of what got them there is the fact that part of their marketing strategy is to let us get to know them as people. We are attracted to the people who are like us or at least like what we wish to become.
So who are you? What do you want to get across to your market? What will it be like for them to do business with you? What problems can you solve for them and how will you solve them?
Try Out Several Marketing Strategies
The only way to really find out which is the best internet marketing strategy for you is try several and see which ones really appeal.
I went through this process at Renegade University and then Renegade Professional. The internet marketing training I got there not only exposed me to several different ways to market my business, but it took me from computer novice to recognized expert.
If you've followed me in my progress, you know that 18 months ago I had no marketing, business or sales background and the only thing I knew how to do on the computer was send an email.
Renegade Professional allowed me to try out several different types of marketing and how to use them effectively. I learned not only how to find my target market but how to take my business in the direction that would best serve that market.
One of the ways I am now serving my audience is by coaching. Which leads me to the bonus! I am offering a special bonus when you sign up for Renegade Professional through me. The offer is limited and you'll see why when you click to see what it is.
I will be honored to serve as your guide at the University and will look forward to working with you.
